Our Staff
Dr. Berglund graduated from the UW Madison Veterinary School. She started her
career as a Veterinary Technician, then went on to veterinary school. After graduationshe completed a year-long internship at the Atlantic Veterinary College, Prince Edward Island, Canada. She has been with Candlin's since 1996.Dr Berglund enjoys gardening and home repair in her free time. Syd and Pearl are her boss cats at home and Kitt at the clinic. She also has a chinchilla - Oliver.Jennifer Mandel is a veterinary assistant. She has worked in the veterinary field for over 10 years. Please welcome her to the clinic!
She is a certified riding instructor and really loves horses. She is married and has three cats.
Becky Njai joined the clinic in early 2010 and is now working for the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Middleton - she enjoys the pace of emergency medicine! She still works here every other Saturday and when we need another hand. She is a certified Veterinary Technician with a great deal of knowledge and experience. She is married and has a lab mix and two cats at home. Candlin Pet Hospital was started in 1948 by Dr. Paul Candlin. The hospital was also the 1st Dane County Humane Society. His wife (Marcella), daughter (Linda), and caring veterinarians took care of the communities' pets after Dr. Candlin's death in the 1970's. In 2007 Dr. Berglund, an eleven year veteran of the practice, bought Candlin Pet Hospital and continues the friendly neighborhood clinic.
